Dating TypesRelative datingDating an event, period or object in
relation to an established sequence, either earlier or later than the known period,
although its actual date is unknown, is called relative dating. Two terms are employed:
events or periods that occurred at the same time are referred to being synchronic
and those occurring at different times are called disynchronic. Chronometric datingAwarding an event a specific date or place in a timeline or in a time bracket is referred to as chronometric dating or absolute dating. Methods for determining this date include dating methods like Radiometric dating and Varve Counting. |
