CPU Slots:
Slot 1: designed for pentium and pentium II & III processors.
Slot A:designed for Athlon processors.
Socket 370 : Designed for Cyrix, Celeron processors.
Memory slots:
Currently the memory slot is DIMM 128 pin slots, previously, it is
only 64 pins, the memory is shorter.
By using 128 pin slots, memory bandwidth is effectively
increased as data can be transferred with double the amount. The speed which
data is retrieved from the memory and read out of the memory is the same as the
front side bus speed of three types, 66 mHz, 100 mHz and 133mHz.
PCI slots:
These slots mainly cater for sound card, graphic card and other
plug-in cards like LAN cards and Modem.
AGP:
These slots only houses more recent graphic card, the
high speed of transmission ensures fast rendering of graphics.
