glossary:
access time: It is the total sum of seek time( time taken to position a head
over a particular track), settle time (time taken for the head to stabilize) and
latency time taken for the head to move to the particular sector)
cluster: one or more successive sectors that contain a contiguous group of
data. It is the smallest unit in which data is stored on a drive.
cookie: the Mylar disk to which data is written in a floppy drive
read/write head: the drive component that writes data to or read data from
the hard disk.
platter: a metal disk on which data is stored.
