Greetings

Hey, my name is Amanda Suzanne Wasielewski! AKA Mandy. I am 15 years old and I live in Glenview, Illinois, USA (near Chicago). I am entering the 10^th grade at Glenbrook South High School. Go Titans! I recently moved from Naperville, Illinois, USA where I was a NNHS Huskie. I have a huge range of interests. The Renaissance and Middle Ages have always fascinated me, which was why this project appealed to me so much! I am a huge art fan, I love reading, and I am into sports and music.

ThinkQuest

It is actually pretty funny how I got involved in ThinkQuest. It was really complete and pure LUCK. I was doing some online research last year for school and I happened upon a page of links to educational sites. ThinkQuest intrigued me, so I signed up for it! It’s such an awesome opportunity for kids to learn about the Internet and each other. Our team is especially exciting because we have such diversity. I would have never dreamed a few months ago that I would be working with two other people from Romania and South Africa on a web page! It still amazes me! I have definitely learned a lot of usful information during this project! Plus it was something incredible to do during my summer vacation. I will definitely do this again!

A bit more about Myself

My parents, Michael and Nancy, and brother, Mike, were of course all astonished that I was doing this project. We are a pretty typical American family living in Suburbia. I am addicted to the Internet, and my family often complains about how much I’m online. I have designed a few other web sites, but none on this scale! I am also really into music. I play clarinet, saxophone, and piano. I have competed in both jazz competitions for saxophone and Sonata/Sonatina piano competitions. I am also in our school’s band program. Last year I got the opportunity to do a jazz recording session downtown Chicago. I am also very active in sports! My main sport is basketball, but I also played badminton for NNHS, my former school. I play a variety of other sports for fun outside of school. I also enjoy running. In addition, I have participated in numerous clubs, including Builder’s Club and Key Club, which are service clubs that allow me to help my community. Another hobby I have is painting and drawing. I also like to write (my novel will be done soon I hope : ) ) and sing! I love to read, especially reading classics! My favorite subject is probably history!
