Reasons to read the BibleFirst of all, this web site is not an authority on the Bible; the Bible is the only authority on the Bible. That is why you should read it in order to verify what we have testified to you on this site. However, we have only included portions of the Bible on this site. In order for you to understand the big picture, you should read and study the whole Bible, not just what we have here. The Bible says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." (2 Timothy 2:15) You also may benefit from reading different translations of the Bible. Find out where you can get a Bible. Everything God wants you to know about Him, His ways, and His purposes for your life, is in His Word, the Bible. The Bible says that man must live on the Word of God. What does this mean? The Bible says that you have a spirit. Your spirit is sustained by the Word of God. The Spirit of God wrote the Bible through men. God wants everyone to know His will, but unfortunately the Bible contains so many deep concepts that it is very hard to grasp. It says, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14) Pray to God that He will grant you wisdom and a clear mind when you read His Word, that you may comprehend what is written there. If you truly want to understand, you need to take your relationship with God to a higher level. You need salvation. What does it mean to be saved? Study Hints
