The Message of the Bible

The main purpose of the Bible is to give men and women knowledge from God, and they must in turn act on it. What does the Bible say?

The Bible says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) What is sin? Sin is an old word from the medieval days which means "to miss the mark." When an archer missed his target, he was said to have sinned. In other words, God has set a mark, which is perfection. Only one person has ever walked this Earth as a perfect man; that man was Jesus. Jesus is God's only Son. But Jesus did not come to Earth just to live a perfect life, instead he came to die. Die as a sacrifice for the sins of the entire world. That's how much God loves you, that he would not even spare his own Son for you. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

The Bible says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) If you are "saved," your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life and you will be spared of the second death as described in Revelation Chapter 20. Everyone must be saved; no matter if you think you've lived a pretty good life or if you've killed 100 people. The Bible says that there is only one way to heaven, and that way is Jesus.

The Bible says that it is the Blood of Jesus that covers your sins. When you have Jesus has your Lord, your sins are "washed" away with the Blood of Jesus. When God looks upon those who have been washed in the Blood of Jesus, He sees perfection. He sees no wrong or blemish because Jesus has lived the perfect life for us. The Bible says that we are nothing without Jesus.

Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20) Will you let Him in? Jesus said, "but he that believeth not shall be damned."

If you want Jesus to be the Lord of your life, pray to God:

God, I know that I have fallen short of your mark. Jesus, please be my Lord and savior. I believe that you died for me and that you were raised from the dead so that I should not perish but live forever. Wash me clean of my sins and make me whole again. In your holy name I pray, amen.

If you just prayed that prayer...

You can now know that you will be saved. However, understand that you must develop your relationship with God by communicating with Him - praying to Him and reading the Bible. Do you need a Bible?

Do what the Bible commands you to do: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)

The Bible says, "And be ye not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2) "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." (James 4:7-8)

God does not want you to be on your own concerning your relationship with Him. The Bible says, "."

There is no formula to have a perfect relationship with God. He will take care of your every need. "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13) You just need to let Him take control of your life, which means to read the Bible and apply it's principles to your life.
