Why the Roman Empire?
The Romans were the most powerful of all the ancient empires. In fact, they were the last
empire to conquer all of Europe. "And the fourth kingdom (the ancient Roman Empire)
shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou (King Nebuchadnezzar) sawest the feet and toes, part of potters clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.".
Of the 5 different empires explained, only 2 (the fourth, and fifth) will be somewhat alike. Obviously the Roman Empire is not like it was then, but it will still have the same power. The next Roman Empire may very well be more of a political empire, for instance "United Europe".
