Wangfujing has been the very space for government and palaces of the aristocrats
since Yuan dynasty 700 years ago.
During
the Qing dynasty, the street got its name called "Wangfujing"
because there was a sweet water well in the street.
In
Chinese, "Wangfu" means the palaces
of the aristocrats, and "jing" means well. so that's the
reason of the name.
Wangfujing
now becomes a very famous commercial street in China and also in the
whole world.
Recently,
the street has made "the sister streets" with the
street in Paris.
