A woman, expecting a baby, was considered God's Favourite, able to bring happiness. People believed that if a pregnant would eat a fruit from a young tree, it would be very fruitiferous.The childbirth breaks the invisible border between the World of Dead and the World of Alive. That is why it was "dangerous" to stay near the woman. The childbirth never took place in the house, but in a steamy bath. To make birth easier all the bundles were untied. Perhaps, it helped psychologically. An old woman who had healthy sons usually helped the pregnant.
