Theodore Roosevelt: Evaluation

Theodore Roosevelt was unique. Competent in his exercise of American power, he set a precedent in U.S. foreign policy no leader has yet followed. He was a superb manipulator of the balance power, and advanced American interests throughout the world whenever policy.

Although “Rooseveltism” is not the guiding principal of United States foreign policy today, Roosevelt prepared the United States for the end of its isolationist period and paved the way for later diplomats to follow his lead and mediate problems not only in the Western Hemisphere, but throughout the world.
