Let me start it off by saying that I, and the rest of the team for that matter, are from Canada. | | | Valona - 08/24/00 11:56AM | | Hey people! Yes, this site is really good! I am one of your competitors in the Interdisciplinary TQ category - team C001341 - but I just had to say that. I thought this site loaded slowly when I was on a different comp., but on my bro's iBook it loads great! But then, everything loads great on this iBook. It has 192 MB of memory. :) So, the reason I am going to your site a second time is that now I am visiting all the Interdisciplinary sites again and sorting them into three categories: Good, Medium and Awful. Your site is solidly in my personal 'Good' category, as I'm sure you'll be thrilled to hear. :) This category is very exclusive; I have ten sites in it in all.
Too bad I'm not a TQ judge, eh?
Oops, I must be posting in the wrong thread. Uhh, to make it applicable, I will just say that I am from the USA. Missouri, to be specific.
-Sarah Pride-
P.S. Oh, and I also like this forum. | | | Phil - 08/24/00 10:14PM | | g'day
I am a judge and i like the site too.
Where am I?
I'm sitting in my upstairs room, overlooking the trees and the red tile roofs of my suburb with the towers of the city in the distance.
Which city?
Well we do actually greet each other with g'day here but the emphasis is on the soft g not on the nasal day as it is pronounced on American TV.
We are about a month away from the start of the Olympics. Not every one here wants this event. I think that China should have got it to draw them into the world community.
"The Games" are a topic for argument here because it takes from the poor and gives to the rich. Staging this event has cost the working poor of the city because so much gov't money (taxes they paid) has gone into an event that only rich people can afford to go and see.
I'm pleased you guys had such a good time doing the site.
I am impressed by
The detail of the text which seems to me to be your own work.
The clear organisation and the reduntancy of your nav sytem.
The graphic design that is appropriate to your content. The site feels like a "device".
This forum and the interactive glossary. This is what got you out of the ordinary site category. It addressed the contests most important category (to my mind). This is to use the web to make something that belongs to everyone who uses it and is build by all who wish to contribute.
As a parting gift. A URL for the site of a design genius.

Too bad that link is broken, but I do appreciate the site. I always like to look at web designer's sites, and this one had some real talent (and some real big clients). I'm really interested in this 'stuff', and hopefully will be further involved in it in the future.
My favourite is still http://www.crashmedia.com/ though.
I never thought about the olympics like that, the negative aspects and all. And although the Olympics could have been good for China, there could also be a large catastrophy. There are many people/contries that might object to visiting a country that has such a *unique* way of operation. | | | Schoeny - 08/25/00 9:46PM | | :)
* a judge likes our site * | | | Tweedle - 12/18/03 7:03AM | | Hi, Tweedle here. For what its worth I'm in the UK. Nice site, and very interesting.
