Can you take a modem out of any computer and put it into another? Does it matter what kind it is?
Tweedle - 12/18/03 9:35AM
The keyboard driver deals with the hardware scancodes. A hardware scancode refers to the column and row addresses of the key being pressed. The keyboard driver contains tables to convert hardware row/column codes into Symbian OS scancodes.

The keyboard translation tables use the Symbian OS scancodes to control:

how the keyboard behaves

how modifiers affect keypresses

the entry of special characters

etc.

Values are defined for some special keys such as shift, control, enter, menu etc. These values are also known as scancodes, although they are just an enumeration of control keys.
