Why computer startup process is called

Your question to me is a little confusing. Becuase the computer start up process is... it first checks the cmos for the setting and it looks in there for the boot sequence(maybe the process you are refering to. i dont know) and for most computer it is A,C,CD-ROM you can change it in your bios setup. I dont know if this is any help becuase i dont really understand your question but i hope it is

On all pcs the operating system (windows) is held on the hard drive, when you switch on your pc a small program held in the bios, cmos will check your system hardware to see if is ready to start it will then look for an operating system in drive a: c: and give instructions for loading part of it into mamory(ram).This method of pulling itself up by its own bootstraps is where the expression of Booting comes from
