The Church of John the Baptist

The Church of John the Baptist

The church of John the Baptist was built in 1671-1787 on the coast of Kotorosl. Two chapels equal the height of the basic building, adjoin from northern and southern part to the central part of the church, which is wreathed by the traditional five- headed. The chapels are wreathed by the five- headed with close put to each other cupolas. The church is endorsed with galleries from three sides, finished at western walls of the chapels. The decor of outside walls from the figured bricks and multi – colour burgh tiles is wonderful. The list of the interior of the church and chapels is executed under the guidance of the yaroslavs Dmitry Grigoriev and Fyodor Ignatiev.
