The Church of Nikola Nadein

The branch of the State historical-architectural museum – reserve the Church of Nikola Nadein settles down in the building of the church, which was erected in1620-1622 on means of the Yaroslavl merchants Yepifaniy Sveteshrikov with his pseudonym .Nadei (here is the name of the church).The building of the church was one of first on suburb posad that has reached us with the very large reorganizations. Originally it was the five chapter with modest tent bell-tower under which there was an entrance in Blagoveshchensk chapel. As a matter of fact the chapel was the household church of Nadey Sveteshnikov. It was surrounded with an open two storied gallery .The frescos executed in 1640 by the large group of painters of holy pictures from different towns, are interesting. The restorers cleared away a part of frescos. Under the legend the after screen made in the style of barroco was made on figure of the first Russian actor F.G. Volkov.
Among icons we can pay attention on “Nikola in life” (the middle of the 16-th century) and three icons of the beginning of the 17-th century from the first after screen: ”The Annunciation”, “the Mother of God”, ”Tikhvin with miracles” and “White suntide”.
