Kostroma

The coat of arms of the town of KostromaThe date of the birth of the city Kostroma is considered to be 1152, when prince Yuri Dolgoruky founded a fortress of the bank of the Volga. There are assumptions that the city existed even earlier. Many times it perished on fire . In 1213 Kostroma was burnt out by prince Kostantin from Rostov by Mongols.
