THE CURAMILLA

 Next to Cucao village, walking to the south, there is a beautiful lagoon surrounded in part by a dense forest and by dunes with no much underbrush like chilcos, quiscales and pangues. A quite water river flow from the lagoon. If we follow the river we can find  a cave gate. We go into the cave yeh a narrow corridor and we find a wide stony walls room. The last earthquake (1960) moved the stones an now is not easy to go deep on the cave, and only we can see a dark fissure between two big rocks, and only we can imagine the deepest cave which is said that comes to the earth centre.

Long time ago a beautiful maiden lived into this cave. She liked to swim on summer sunsets in the lagoon. When the girl wants to rest "La Curamilla"  raised from the lagoon depth. La Curamilla was a solid conic gold stone that shined with the first sun rays an obey only the maiden command. When the girl was gone La Curamilla sinked in the waters again.

This fact was so famous, and for this reason a strange witched to take the gold stone by using the girl. He came with the sunset to the lagoon, and hide her self into the underbrushes and watched to the girl. When the maiden appeared he caught her, but he was so enchanted with  her beauty that forgot "La Curamilla" and only went away with the girl to farest lands and never they give notice again.
