completely harmless. Jokes are intended to be humorous. That is why
someone programs them. Of course, if you are on receiving end you
made not find it quite as funny, as is the case with any type of joke.
A joke will never damage your computer.

messages appear on your screen, while others add unwanted objects that are
hard to get rid of. Jokes can come with an assortment of visual and
sound effects. There are all kinds of jokes that can be
programmed and sent to people for fun. The characteristic that makes
them all jokes is that they do not replicate or change files inside
a computer.
Even though jokes are not malicious, they are often
include in anti-virus databases. This is done so that if someone
goes to the database thinking they have a real virus, the database can
tell the user that they only have a joke.
On the navigation bar, the link to Only a
Joke will take you to an example of a joke. Note that everything
happening is fake. You cannot get a virus on the next
screen. As the joke progresses, watch the bottom left hand corner of the
screen. On the status bar it will tell you a virus is downloading. This is
also part of the joke. Don't worry.
