If you're really interested in learning about what the future of technology may be like, please read this book! This book is written by Neil Gershenfeld, who by the way co-directs the Things That Think research consortium at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab.
This book expands on the this site's main idea. The book itself talks about what the world of the future may be like through the technology currently being worked on at the MIT Media Lab.
When I first opened the book I was quickly enthralled by it especially by the preface itself. The merging of the physical and digital world is the sign that things are going to change. One of the most fascinating things about it was wearable computers that may eventually be embedded into your clothes. Also, one of the most controversial topics discussed in the book was that should electronic books replace regular books that have existed for centuries? Sorry, I can't review much of the books content mainly because of the fact that people should read this book for themselves.
In conclusion, all I have to say is be ready for the digital evolution in this new millenium (you'll know what I'm talking about when you read this book). I really recommend others to read this book.
*On a side note, this is not meant to be any kind of put down what so ever, but you may want to have a dictionary with you when you read this book since it's basically written by a MIT professor.
