Size Consistancy

One of the trickier illusions, size perception can play some wild tricks on our mind. You will notice the man in the foreground with what may look like a little toy to his side. This toy is actually the same size as the man in the background. Go ahead, take out your ruler....we did too! As you look at the picture, you will see the detailed background. This drastically helps create the illusion. Also note if it weren't for the shadows of the man in the background, he could also be perceived as floating next to the two men in the front.
