What is it?

Keratoconus is the enlarging of the cornea, which should normally be spherical in shape. Any irregularly shaped cornea will cause blurry vision.

What causes it?

There are a few theories on what causes this disease but the exact reasons have yet to be proven. Some propose that this disease is a defect in the anatomy while others claim it is brought on during teenage years.

Treatment

Something as simple as prescription glasses may be able to treat the problem if keratoconus is detected early.
