Is Your Sight Blurry?

Find out If You Have One of These Common Conditions Above

Did You Know?
Did you know some US states still allow people with 20/70 vision to have a driver’s license?
Yes
No

What is it?

This condition, related to herpes, affects one-fourth of all people who contract AIDS. It targets the retina and can affect one or both eyes. Over time, it can become very serious. If left untreated, cytomegalovirus (CMV) could lead to blindness.

What causes it?

This condition usually results from a previous condition. AIDS accounts for eighty percent of the diseases associated with CMV. Almost everyone gets CMV at some point, usually during adolescence, but it is not harmful due to the extremely stable immune system present during this period.

Symptoms

  1. flashes of light in your sight (even with eyes closed)
2. floaters (threads or particles floating in the sight)
3. warped vision

Treatment

There are not many treatments but surgery is a possibility. This would help control the puffiness of the retina and bring about its previous normal state.
