| Team C005846 consists of Yoonhee
Ha, Team Leader (USA), Priidu Kooskora (Estonia), and Chee
Liang Lim (Singapore). The three coaches are Ms. Wendy Winans,
Mr. Louis Fleming, and Ms. Kris Findley. All three
are from the USA. Due to the fact that the closest driving distance
between a student member and a coach is five hours, only Mr. Fleming
and Ms. Findley have met. We hope that we will eventually get
the opportunity to meet one another in person.

| Howdy! Thank you for
visiting our site. My name is Yoonhee (or just Yoon), and I am
the Korean-American part of Team C005846. "The Roaring Twenties"
has been my first attempt at ThinkQuest and it has been a truly
wonderful experience. I have had the pleasure of meeting several
kind and talented people, who I probably otherwise wouldn't have
ever met! I have also learned many new things about web design
and the 1920's, thanks to this project, my teammates, and coaches.
Upon completion of this project, I will be entering the 11th
grade at Fairland High School. I'd like to give a big wave to
all my friends in P'ville! J

| This my first time to
take part in the TQ Internet Challenge. It was great working together
with people from other countries. It's also great opportunity
to learn and develop different skills. It was a great, great experience!

| I came upon ThinkQuest
more than 3 years ago, through school, but the interest was aroused
only last year, after witnessing my classmate work on ThinkQuest.
When the opportunity arose this year, I eagerly participated in
ThinkQuest 2000. Bringing along my programming and HTML skills,
together with a perpetual curiosity for technology, I looked for
a team to work with. I am glad to have found Yoonhee’s team. Being
part of this lively and enthusiastic team, I have been able to
contribute my utmost to this project. Well versed and experienced
in numerous programming languages ranging from the simplest of
BASIC, Pascal, to C/C++, I took up the challenge of writing and
implementing CGI scripts to enhance and bring about interactivity
to our website. Learning and using Perl was indeed challenging
and frustrating at times, given little experience to start with.
Having created many sections like the guest book and message boards
for our site, I’m glad my programming skills have come in handy.
The hours of torturous debugging paid off, at seeing the scripts
work in harmony with the rest of the website. With all three teammates
coming from different countries, different timezones and different
backgrounds, efficient and effective collaboration and co-operation
was vital to the success of this project. Communicating through
the Internet mainly via email, and only occasionally instant messaging,
my teamwork skills were taxed to an alarming extent. I had to
do my parts of the job in time, and consolidate it with my teammates’
work, while compromising our ideas, and not dominate over each
other. Communication was vital in requesting for the correct thing
to be done in time. I’m glad I was well equipped to handle the
high-level of distance teamwork ThinkQuest brought about. |

| This is my first year
participating in this program and I was honored to be asked by
my team members to join. Even though I am single and have no children
of my own, I think education and support of students is highly
important. My dedication to good family values and my interest
in web design led me to create a fan web page regarding the Brady
Bunch many years ago. This project has expanded and is now a business
with many different clients and topics. My hobbies and goals have
also made many personal dreams come true. I am proud to help my
team learn some of these skills and to help them achieve some
of their dreams. |
| I am a technology teacher at a high
school with a population of 1,000 students. Being from a town
of just 11,000 in the southern United States, the Thinkquest experience
has really been a unique one. The opportunity to interact with
teachers and students from around the world has been a memorable
time. As a first time coach, I have learned a lot about working
at long distance with a great group of kids. I intend to continue
to serve as a coach as well as trying to get my local students
involved. The experience of getting to know and work with people
of different cultures makes all the students winners regardless
of whether they receive a scholarship. |
| My name is Kris Findley.
I teach U.S. History at Andrews High School, Andrews, TX, both
a high school credit and a college one. I have two sons, both
in college. I also sponsor an Interact club, a community service
organization sponsored by the Rotary Club. My interests are genealogy
and U.S. and Texas history. This is my first year to coach, but
I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have gained some knowledge
in technology, and the always joyful experience of working with
young people. |
