It was 8:30 in the morning when the alarm went off. Bobby was so excited that he could hardly sleep the night before, so when he heard the alarm go off, he was on his feet. He thought he had to be the luckiest boy in the world! How many 5th graders got to go and work at an actual dinosaur dig site for a whole summer? Bobby's little sister, Jessica, was in no mood for the 10 hour drive that awaited her. "Why would you want to go and dig up dead stuff in the middle of nowhere?" she whined as she rolled out of bed and dragged herself down the hall and into the bathroom.
Bobby's parents, Greg and Courtney, were anxious to get on the road, but Greg wouldn't get off work until noon. They knew they had to have Bobby there in time for his orientation meeting the following day. They planned on driving straight through to Montana if they had to.
After packing up Bobby's gear, they started out on their lengthy journey. Unfortunately, twenty minutes into the trip Jessica realized that she had forgotten her teddy bear. However, after fussing for an entire hour, she finally realized that there would be no turning around, and gave up her feeble attempt. It was starting to get late...
