Nelson Mandela                                                            (1918 -  )  

His life inspired, and still inspires millions of oppressed and deprived   

people in Africa and the whole world. Nelson Mandela, the leader in the 

fight for justice against oppressive government, became the first black 

president of  South Africa,  four years after his release from a 27 years'        

imprisonment. His struggle for justice & equality secured him an 

eternal place among the 20th Century's greatest patriots.
