Question:  What was your role in the creation of the Internet?  How did you come up with the idea for your theory?

Answer:  See www.packet.cc and look at my Cronology
I did the first experiments connecting computers together in 1965. Then I
went to ARPA and designed the ARPANET (Initial Internet). I funded BBN to
build the packet switch, organized the protocol research, got the research
labs to connect to the network, designed the topology, ordered the leased
lines, and managed the whole program. In 1969 the net was installed and I
managed it until 1973.

Question: When you worked on ARPANET, did you imaginethat in less then 40 years the idea you helped to develop would change our lives in so manyways?

Answer: Yes, I thought that the net would make all the worlds information available  to everyone instantly. I thought it would take less time however. Ecommerce, I did not think would work however since all attempts had failed.

Quesiton: How do you think our lives will look in 40 years from now? How will the Internet change them?

Answer: All of us will have instant communication with each other by voice, TV, and  more. We will also have available all the information instantly. The pace of invention will increase rapidly.
All this will connect to hand held
devices as well as all electronic devices.

Question: Do you think that the enormous growth of the Internet in the last few years is a good thing or a bad thing? Considering the option that in a few years we wont even have to leave our houses to do anything, because anything could be done via the Internet.

Answer: Yes, information access should be instant. So should communication. This  enhances our lives. It enables the poor to be more equal to the rich.
We may not stay home though since we want to be with other people.

Question: How often do you use the Internet?
Answer: 2-6 hours every day as do all industry users.

Question: What do you do now (work)?
Answer: I founded Caspian Networks to build the next generation routers for the
Internet. I am designing the routers.
