The internet is the fastest growing mean of communications on earth. With over 300 million users, it will soon out grow the TV. Soon, everything will be internet related, therefor, its a good thing to learn about it, this website was created just for that.

WHO
Who can use the internet, you ask? Anyone with a computer, a modem, and an ISP or online service he/she can connect to.

WHAT
What is the internet. In one sentence, the internet is a bunch of computers linked together in sub-networks, that connect to the main network, which is the backbone, where all the information is passed all around the world.

WHERE
The internet is not in one place. The internet is billions of different files (like music files, HTML files, movies, etc)  stored on millions of computers all around the world.

WHEN
The internet started out as a military research project called ARPANET in the 1960's. It only started to get popular in the late 1980's though.

We recommend starting off in the "The Internet’s Benefits" and "How it affects our lives". Then, it is recommended to have a basic understanding of how computers work, so try the "How Computers Work" section for plenty of links that will help you get a basic understanding of how computers work. Now after you have a basic understanding of how computers work, try going to "How the internet works". After that the History and the Future sections should be more interesting to read. The Interviews section contains our exclusive interviews with two of the creators of the internet. The Teaching Plans section contains teaching plans for teachers for this site.

Try the Tutorials and learn how to make graphics or porgramming. In the Terms&Glossary you will find common chat terms and symbols, as well as the glossary of terms that are used on this site.

Test your knowledge and express your opnions in the Interactive section with polls, message boards, quizzes and more!
