![]() By now i hope you know the internets history, benifts, and how it works. Although the internet only excits for less then 40 years, it has already changed our lifes in many areas; how we shop, how we find info, how we learn, and more. The internet still has a long way to go, it is not anywhere near the end, infact, now is just the beginning. For example, in Japan sewing machines with internet acess are sold in stores, the sewing machines can download sewing tamplets to saw by from the companies internet site. Just last month major car companies in the far east, like Nissan and Toyota, released cars that have internet access in them (read more about it here http://live.altavista.com/scripts/editorial.dll?ei=2029387&ern=y).
The following information expresses my own belives, and most of it is based on articles I have read, and programs I have seen. Some of it might happen, and some of it might not. In the coming years, every room or appliance in the house would be able to have mini computers on them with internet access. People who take medicine will have small computers with touch screens attached to the walls, and when they run out of a certain type of medicine, they could just order it through the small computer in the medicine closet. A flat computer with a touch screen could be attached to your refrigirator, and when you want to buy a product, you could just order it by touching the flat screen on the door.
Who knows? Students may never have to leave their house again, they could just participate in virtual online class rooms. Goverments are talking about making net access cheaper and accessible for people that now cant use the net. Soon, everybody will have internet access, and new technologies that make internet access super fast will emerge, means that there will be no more waiting for stuff to download. TV broadcasts on the internet will go much faster and smoother then now, and more features will be availble, like changing view angles and more. I belive that in 50 years (probably less) from now, everything, and I mean everything, will have something to do with the net. The scary thing is that people will never have to leave the house. In the future, computers might not even have hard-drives on board, the hard-drive would be stored on a server somewhere in the world, and the user will access his/her files, games, and applications through the internet. As virtual reality evolves, internet chats will be taken to a whole new level. The user might actually get to see, touch, and smell the persons which the user is chatting with. Net users could see and feel a product before they buy it through the net. The possiblites are endless, we will have to wait and see what happens. Copyright © 2000 Team C005753 |
