20 to 30 periods (40 minutes per period)
OBJECTIVES:
- identify
the characteristics of Chinese paintings between the periods
- identify
the characteristics of Chinese paintings different from another traditional
culture/ community
- manipulate
the basic techniques of Chinese painting
- create
a painting with ideas from Chinese paintings
PROCESS:

visit an exhibition of Chinese
paintings/ show slides of a brief introduction over all the periods
of Chinese painting

discuss
on the differences between Chinese paintings and the paintings of the
students' community/ traditional culture

introduce
the Chinese paintings from the pre-historical
time to Han dynasties with this website/ slides and handouts
-
divide
the class into groups, each group chooses a topic of that period, and
then make a report on the characteristics with more references provided
by the teacher or library

a quiz as consolidation (available in this website)
