 Anti-Semitism Discrimination against the Jewish people.
 Aryan Hitler defined Aryan as any "pure-breed" German.
 Aryanization This is Hitler's attempt to make Aryan the master race of Europe.


 B
 Buddhism Buddhism follows the teaching of Buddha.
 Buddhists Buddhists are followers of Buddhism.


 C
 Concentration Camp The concentration camps were built with the inital purpose to house political prisoners but later were used by Hitler and the Nazis to imprisoned Jews and others during the Holocaust.


 D
 Death Marches When the Allied Forces began to enter Germany and other Nazi occupied land, the Nazis emptied the camps to wipe out any evidence. A few surviving Jews were forced to walk on the death marches out of the camps.


 E
 Einsatzgruppen This was the mobile killing squad, an earlier version of a gas chamber.
 Extermination Camp When Hitler and the Nazis attempted to exterminate the Jews, they created these camps to mass murder the Jews and the other "undesirables" in Europe during the Holocaust.


 G
 Gas Chambers The use of gas chambers enable Hitler and the Nazis to kill a large number of victims at a time. Gas chambers were mostly used in extermination camps.
 Ghettos Ghettos were sections of cities where it was easy to transport and place Jews.

 Hindus Followers of the main religion in India.
 Holocaust The Holocaust refers to the death of approximately 6 million Jews and 5 million others including gypsies, communists, the disabled, and homosexuals.

 Jews Jews are followers of Judaism. However, during the Holocaust, Hitler categorized Jews as belonging to a race.

 Nazi A member of the National Socialist Party.
 Nazis Nazis refer to the members of the National Socialist Party.
 Nirankari-Sikh clash This conflict is the prelude to the Operation Blue Star. In this conflict, 13 Sikhs were killed.
 November Carnage This conflict occurred after the Operation Blue Star when Indian Prime Minister was assissinated.
 Nuremberg Laws This document was established in 1935 which defined the Jews as belonging to a racial group instead of a religious group.

 Operation Blue Star Operation Blue Star is also known as the Invasion of the Golden Temple. The Indian government attack the Sikh's temple.

 Religious persecution A traditional definition of religious persecution is as the persecution of a group because of their religious beliefs. Our definition is the persecution of individuals within a group in the struggle to maintain their religious identity, or the abuse of power by an individual or organization that causes members of a religious group to suffer.

 Sikhs Sikhs are followers of Sikhism, a religion found by Guru Nanak. Sikhs are against caste-based society.

 Theocratic Country A theocratic country is one whose role of religion plays a strong part in the government.An example of a theocratic country is Tibet.

 Universal Declaration of Human Rights This document was established by the United Nations in 1948 in response to human rights violations in the Holocaust and World War II.
