Introduction
This section of Wave Express is to give you a general idea of a typical
wave. It explains the difference between a transverse and longitudinal
wave and gives examples of where you might see, hear or feel both types
of waves. There are certain set ways a wave behaves when encountering
an object or another wave. These behavior patterns are explained with
illustrated examples, in order to cater to multiple learning styles. The
terms and concepts explained in this section must be grasped before you
can make an attempt to understand light and sound waves.
It is important to understand the basic concepts and waves in general
if you are curious about light and sound waves. This is the reasoning
behind this section of Wave Express. We hope that you will have gained
enough knowledge of the terminology and about the phase relationships
of a wave from this section to relate them to your daily life.
