Interesting Facts:

Here's a picture of my address in Singapore. Since I live in landed property, the address is just 2 lines. It is so called to remember the numerous species of birds that gather around my place every morning.

Most Singaporean addresses are in Malay or Hokkien (an Oriental dialect) to remind Singaporeans of the rich ethnic diversity here. For instance, Lorong Ong Lai would mean 'Pineapple Lane' where Lorong means 'lane' in Malay and 'Ong Lai' , 'pineapple' in Hokkien.

As you may note, all the stamps of Singapore feature the black Merlion symbol at the corner of the stamp. Also in this stamp, the postmark imprinted gives the advice, "Seal Your Envelope But Do Not Staple It".

A commemorative X-mas postmark issued on all letters is delivered during the pre-Christmas period. As you may note, most Singaporean stamps are colorfully decorated usually with multi-racial themes once again to reflect our racial diversity.

A typical Singaporean post-mark indicates the time of delivery as 'AM' or 'PM'. There are two collections per day for local mail: one at noon and one at evening.
