Packet Sorting Machines:

There is currently no machine that is capable of sorting packets the way flats are sorted. Packets are considered to be newspapers, magazines, packages, and anything which does not meet the width or thickness requirements for the Flats Sorting Machine. Because these items vary so greatly in size it is difficult to design a machine which would accommodate all of them. Instead, packets are sorted manually. Sometimes they are placed on a conveyor and sorted by operators along the track.
