New Zealand
Services Provided
The New Zealand postal system has an efficient yet simple range of
products and services that will meet both the needs of the average individual
and business corporations. For international mail, one can choose from 3 modes:
the fastest Express mode, the normal delivery mode or the slowest Economy mode.
For domestic mail, there are 4 modes of delivery to meet each individual's
purpose: Normal Post, Fast Post, Registered Mail and Courier Post (arranged in
ascending order of price and speed as the names suggest).
One special aspect I found of the
New Zealand postal system was the RuralPost service. It was particularly helpful
for those customers who stay right in the far outbacks of New Zealand, a long
way from the nearest post office. Driving all the way down to Auckland just for
collecting and sending mail seemed time and energy-wasting, and hence RuralPost
enabled the customers to collect and send out mail at their own doorstep. All
they needed was just to register their address and their mail will be delivered
to them via car, air or even boat. If they wished to send out mail, they just
needed to put the mail in their mailbox, move the red flag up, and this will
indicate to the next passing Post vehicle to stop and collect it. |
