Guinea-Bissau

Present Operations
The postal system in Guinea-Bissau does not have a legal role, as such, in the country, and is a service operated by the Government. It does, however, operate more as an independent company that is part of the Government, and has enough freedom to do so.

Main Role
Their main role is to deliver postal items within the country and from other countries. This includes letters, cards, parcels and other items.

Future Goals
In the future there are plans to have a new numbering system for all the houses that should make sorting and delivering mail to the correct address an easier task. There are also plans to extend their services into the express post area.

Services Provided
There are no set services that have to be performed by the postal service, however they do offer national and international letter and parcel delivery.

Post Code
The postcodes in Guinea-Bissau consist of four digits. The four digits represent the region, sector and section for delivery (e.g. 1045).
