Greece

Present Operations
The postal service in Greece is called the Hellenic Post and is a public service that comes under the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Main Role
Their main role is the collection, sorting, and delivery of letters and parcels both nationally and internationally.

Services Provided
They are required to provide both a national post service and an international post service. They perform any task that is deemed necessary of the postal service. The Greek postal service is also responsible for managing the postal income and setting rates accordingly.

Post Code
The postcodes in Greece consist of five digits with a space after the first three digits. The first two digits represent the sorting center or a town with a population of more than 50,000 people. If the third digit is a 0 then it represents a post office. The last two digits represent the zone of distribution (e.g. 370 05).
