 Gambia

Present Operations
The postal service in Gambia is run by the Government and is part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Main Role
The main roles of the postal service are to collect, sort, and deliver letters and parcels, and to sell postal items at local post offices.

Future Goals
The Government has set about establishing the postal service and regulator as two separate parts in the Government rather than one. This should help to provide services that are more affordable to the public.

Services Provided
They provide the services of collecting and delivering letters and parcels, selling stamps and other postal accessories, and maintaining the postal services provided for the customer such as letterboxes.
