Debate in daily life

Actually, we debate with people around us almost every day without being aware of it. We often argue with our family members and friends over questions of different nature, some of which may be pretty trivial. We may debate with our parents that going out with our friends for a drink after dinner is a healthy activity among teenagers. We may also try to convince them that the career prospects of Arts students are as good as Science students. In school, we may debate with our classmates over certain academic topics. In class discussions, we often express different opinions on the topics under discussion. In fact, it is impossible for different individuals to share the same views on various issues, so arguments are inevitable. We contradict and challenge other views, and attempt to persuade our friends to come round to our own way of thinking. In short, debate is a natural and healthy activity in our daily lives. It helps us to think logically and analytically, and to express our opinions convincingly.
