The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one has to do. -- James M.Barrne

Emotions are subjective experiences, feelings that accompany motivations. According to Robert Plutchik, humans experience eight emotions: fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, anticipation, joy and acceptance. These emotions can combine to produce hybrid emotion: Joy+Acceptance = Love. Emotions also vary in intensity. Rage is an intense form of anger while annoyance is a less intense form. Emotions are not directly observable and much of the study on emotion is based on inferences from facial/non-verbal expression.
