The epoch of the Great Classics (1870-1890)
            Exceptional works of Eminescu., Caragiale, Creanga, Slavici, Macedonski, Maiorescu appear and also the most important cultural society from the Romania.
            The classics - the most important representatives of Junimea. They came with models and synchronized our literature with the occidental one.
            The literary movement around Junimea was fundamentally classic without rejecting the romanticism being open to realism. The perspective of realism is defined by Creanga's prose Amintiri din copilarie (The Story of my Childhood), Povesti (Stories for Children), Povestiri (Stories).
            In Caragiale and Slavici's short-stories and the novel Mara a first expression of objectivity is found.
            The classics marked a significant progress in the Romanian prose's evolution. their realism in the study of the social realties.
            Each of the classics represent the superior flourishing of a species in Romanian literature:
