The portraits are classical, they announce the physical features , then the moral ones and deeds justifying them. The well done portraits of Steven the Great, Bogdan Voda, Petru Rares, Alexandru Lapusneanu.
He used dialogue as the one between Rares who came back from fishing and the landowners who welcomed him to tell him the news he was the inheritor of the throne or the famous dialogue in which Lapusneanu said his nobles: "If they do not want me, I do want them..."

Biographi: Ureche Grigore came from an old noble family whose origins can be traced back in Alexander's time. He was the Ureche Nestor's son, landowner with a prosper situation (he had built on his expenses Secu monastery), with high noble ranks, being at certain moment the one who could replace the ruler (the king).
Ureche Grigore was born around 1590. He learnt in one of the Jesuit colleges of the time in dhow (the languages spoken there were Latin and Polish). The cultural background he got in Poland gave him credit among the Moldavian class of nobles. He returned into his country in a period when Rulers were changing (Ilias Alex, Barnovski Miron, Movila Moise and in 1643 Lupu Vasile). during Lupu Vasile's reign he was the highest judge of Wallachia (1642). He was the most respected noble in the ruling class and a close advisor of the ruler.
Ureche's chronicle describes historical events from the founding of Moldavia (1359) to the second reign of Aron Voda (1599) - written in the national language.

Literary value: the factic material and the human one is seem with the eye of the writer, described with artistic means. the telling of historical facts has a pronounced affective accent. We feel the chroniclers being enthusiastic about something or condemning some facts.
The chronicler Ureche G. was compared with the Latin historic Tocitus for the robberies of style, exactity and precision of his notes.
