Muresanu Andrei

AAA             Muresanu Andrei (1816-1863) belongs to the generation of the period from 1848. He was school teacher and then professor he came to know history very well. He didn’t write very much.
            As a poet, he made his debut with romantic verses in which he glorified the glories of the past. He evaluated towards satirical poetry.
            At maturity he illustrated his vocation for the verse with a patriotic message. In 1848 his poem Un rasunet spread under the title Desteapta-te romane which became the Romanians’ revolutionary march. His creation reflects “the problems and the major aspiration of the epoch” D Pacurariu.
            Muresanu Andrei become hero of some of Eminescu’s poems as a romantic poet.
            He wrote the verses from the actual national hymn of Romania - Desteapta-te romane (Weakeup Romaians).
