Filimnon Nicolae

AAA             Filimon Nicolae (1819-1865) was a self-educated man for all his life.
            He completed the education he got around the church Evei in Bucharest or in some houses of nobles.
            He had a prolific publicist activity imploring as one of our first musical and dramatic chronicles.
            He wrote a voyage journal Voyages to Meridional Germany Artistically historical and critical memoirs.
            He selects impressions about the cities The trip to Vienna, The pictures’ gallery from Belvedere, the schonbrunn Cartle.
            Together with P Ispirescu he chose legends which he printed in the magazine of the time.
            Thus, in Taranul Roman (The Romanian Peasant) appeared The Flower Man with Silky Beard, Fat-Frumos’ Story, The Stone Man.

            He wrote two romantic short-stories full of the epoch’s chinches: Frederich Stoaps or the Attempt from Schonbrunn against Napoleon I and Mateo Cipian.

            The physiologies of the period ’48 which illustrated representative social types are continued by N. Filimon in short-story and novel.

            The short-story The misfortunes of a servaut or the outskirts’ gentle men 1861 propose a typical portrait of the servant.
