Asachi Gheorghe was a scholar animated by the ideas of illuminism,
cultural guide, court poet, publicist. |

He made his debut with sounets (influenced by Italian poems). He wrote
afterwards various species (from elegy, hymnee, ode, ballad, meditation
to fable and satire).

He intended to create a national mythology / he wrote historical
legends: Dochia si Traian (Dochia and Traian),
Stefan cel Mare inaintea Cetatii Neamtu (Steven the
Great in the front of the Neamt Castle), the short-stories of
the plays Dragos, Petru Rares. |

The fantastic ballad Imnul lui But (But's Imn)
is memorable by the cavalcade to the world beyound. |

His fabler and satires propose human reprezentative types for his time
anticipating the physiologies of the generation from 1848. |

The fable Mamita la bal mascat (Mom at the mask boll)
ironises the superficial world, blinded by everything that's briliant. |
|
Castorii (The Beavers) depiets the formation
of a young generation which by education estranges from the country's
realities. |
