This was the sunset view at the 'Sounds of Silence' desert dinner (see Slides). There was not a lot of silence between the chattering in many languages of the other guests and the didgeridoo entertainment but there was plenty of desert ,  the rocks of Uluru  to the east and Kata Tjuta  to the west framing their view of the sky and a rich smell of honey from all the wild flowers. Seated under a full moon at a table set with white linen and candles they had a three course banquet that included barramundi, crocodile, emu sausages bush tomato relish and chocolate pudding. James liked the bread rolls best!

After dinner a young amatuer astronomer told Carolyn and James about Wurriunpranilli, the sun woman and the European constellations. When the clouds parted she showed them how to find the star Arcturus in the northern sky, then she showed them the binary stars of Alpha centauri in the south with the telescope.
Surprisingly she only knew very little about Aboriginal astronomy, and realised how this webpage could really help to spread the knowledge that is allowed to be shared by the Aboriginals.
