This site was a collaboration between three people for the Thinkquest Internet Challenge Contest. Melissa (who goes by Mel) and Shujun (she goes by Shuj) met in the 8th grade. Unfortunately, they only spent a year in school together before splitting off and going to two different high schools. During the spring of 2000, they were talking on-line about entering the Thinkquest contest again. They signed up for My Thinkquest, and went around recruiting a third group member. Many interested people responded, but Andreas (he goes by Andi) was the one who sounded most interested in the subject Mel and Shuj had in mind: the golden ratio.
Work was started on the site, and it was immediately discovered that collaboration between Mel and Shuj was quite simple, being in the same time zone and having the same first tongue (although if you get technical about it, Shuj's first language was Mandarin Chinese). However, collaborating with Andi proved difficult, with him being in a different time zone and having limited internet access (oh yeah, and there was also the limited English skills).
As for the technical stuff involving this website, it is best seen with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or higher or Netscape Communicator 4 or higher. All images were made with PhotoShop or WebPainter. The navigation bar on top was done using a DHTML script from DynamicDrive.com.
Please look at the "about the website" page for our sources. Find out more about the creators of this website, their coaches, an explanation of the website, or go to the Thinkquest homepage.
