Artists vs. Composers
Hello-
I am in a music appreciation class. Our first essay is regarding Medieval/Renaissance music. Why is it so foreign to our ears? (I'm researching that).
The 2nd part of the question is what I'm having a hard time with. Wonder if anyone could lead me in the right direction? The question(s) are:

why is plainchant so arhythmic? Is this why Ren. visual artists are famous today and Ren. composers are almost unknown?
any insight into a good website/source is certainly appreciated. Thanks!
