Kronos was the Titan king of the gods. He is father to six of the Olympians including Zeus. Kronos killed his father Uranus, causing him to be fearful of his own similar fate, so any child Rheia (his wife)gave birth to, Kronos swallowed alive. But when the sixth child was born, Zeus, Rheia hid Zeus and feed Kronos a rock. When Zeus was full-grown he freed his siblings from the gullet of his father and over took the Titans. Kronos was banished to Tartarous by his son Zeus, but was later allowed to return.
