Hera

Hera was the queen of all the gods and was the beautiful and powerful official head wife of Zeus . Aphrodite even came in second to Hera. But behind all the beauty was a petty goddess with a lust for revenge. Ironically she is the goddess and protector of marriage. The root of her spiteful feelings was Zeus. Zeus took the form of an injured bird, causing Hera to take pity on the fledgling and embrace it. As she embraced it Zeus changed back to his human form and raped her. Out of shame and pure embarrassment she married Zeus.

In Greek mythology, Hera was the reigning female goddess of Olympus because she was Zeus's wife. But her worship is actually far older than that of her husband. Hera was worshipped throughout Greece, and the oldest and most important temples were consecrated to her. Her subjugation to Zeus and depiction as a jealous shrew are mythological reflections of one of the most profound changes ever in human spirituality

Hera hated the great hero Herakles since he was the son of her husband Zeus and a mortal woman. When he was still an infant, she sent snakes to attack him in his crib. Later she stirred up the Amazons against him when he was on one of his quests.

On many accounts Hera becomes enraged when she finds out that her unfaithful husband has found a new lover. Io was turned into a cow by Zeus to protect her from Hera. But Hera was so jealous of Io that she sent a fly to constantly annoy Io, disrupting any peace she once had. The fly drove Io to the ends of the earth and away from Zeus
