Elizabeth Beckett (Lise) - age 17 - Chugiak, Alaska, USA - Interior Distance Education of Alaska

Hello, I'm Lise, and I am the team leader for our team. I live in Chugiak, Alaska or will until I move to Fairbanks Alaska next week.

Besides working on the computer I really enjoy fencing, hiking, ham radio, reading, old movies, piano, photography, Russian, computers, and international travel, just to mention a few. If you asked me what I liked to read you'd better prepare to be here for awhile. Favorite authors include: Jane Austen, Tom Clancy, and Shakespeare. And we won't even go into my favorite movies, the list is over 4 pgs long!

My main reason for wanting to do our site on life after high school is because of my age. I'm a senior this year so life after high school is something I think about. What are my options? What's out there? What do I want to do with my life? Building this project has been a ton of fun and I've learned a lot. I feel equipped to graduate with confidence and explore what lies beyond.

Favorite part of building the project: Getting to know my teammates! This was sometimes hard with things like 4.6 earthquakes occurring in the middle of team meetings, but we had fun. I also enjoyed the other challenges of TQ this year. I was in Australia for almost a month of our project which presented its own unique set of challenges.

Thinkquest '00 has been really fun especially working with people who live so far away from me. Their different perspectives have been really helpful. The most challenging part of being team leader has been taking a project from nothing to planning it out with my team and making sure it gets completed. I had the responsibility of keeping us on track and was responsible if something didn't get done. Eugene and Christine have been great teammates, thanks guys!

Christine Tsang - age 15 - Bend, Oregon, USA - Mountain View High School

Hey there! Well, I guess I'm supposed to tell you a little about myself, so here I go. :-D Basically, my life surrounds my favorite thing to do, sleep. Someone once told me that you spend close to 1/3 of your life sleeping. I'm proud to say that my percentage of sleeping in my life is probably going to be far closer to 50%. Anyway, trailing closely after sleeping is eating and hanging out with friends. I also like to listen to music, travel, read, play piano, do stuff outdoors including, rafting, hiking, soccer, and skiing, and much more. Usually, I like doing almost everything and anything.

There are many different reasons why I'm doing ThinkQuest 2000. For one, doing in-depth research on the topic of colleges, which AfterHigh covers, has made the whole colleges ordeal seem much less ominous. Also, participating in ThinkQuest has taught me a great deal about working with teammates across the world. This was an incredible experience and I had lots of fun participating in a great program like ThinkQuest.

I hope all of you have fun and find this site useful. Cya! Christine

Eugene Otto - age 16 - Springfield, Virginia, USA - Thomas Jefferson High School

Hi, I'm Eugene the techie for our team. I live in Springfield, Virginia about 20 minutes outside of Washington D.C.

I spend most of my time on the computer trying to learn new things. I've recently fallen in love with the PHP scripting language : ) My favorite things are limited to what I can do within ten feet of a computer. Listening to music, programming, watching tv, reading, eating, and sleeping take up most of my time. I've recently developed a passion for lacrosse, so I'll be needing a laptop soon : )

ThinkQuest 2000 has been great! I've learned a lot in the past few months, not only about coding and databases but also about how to efficiently work in a team and how to compete in a fixed time-frame. I've also learned about life. Giving, sharing, compromise, caffeine, and a burning hatred for the evils of 56k modems. Life...*sniff*...life is beautiful! :)

I've had a great time participating in TQ2000 win or lose. My partners Lise and Christine have been just great, thanks guys!
